The studio may be brand new but Jacqui is no stranger to yoga. Jacqui is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance (RYT 200). She was trained in 2000 in the Anusara Inspired style and was certified in 2002 as a Restorative Instructor.  She taught for 10 years in the Washington DC area and Santa Fe, NM and for the past 10 years she has been teaching here in Lufkin!  Jacqui believes that her purpose in life is to introduce people to yoga.  Her classes are primarily a slow, steady, meditative style using yoga props to perform the poses safely and attain maximum benefit of each pose.  Jacqui believes that yoga is beneficial for the mind body spirit, that it transforms us in the most wonderful of ways and considers it to be a powerful source of self care.  Yoga is also about connecting people so they can create a community.  She is delighted to be a part of Lufkin's thriving downtown community with Shepherd Street Yoga! Come take a class with Jacqui!

Terri – Instructor

Terri Thigpen, RYT 200, born and raised in Lufkin has been practicing yoga for about ten years. After retiring from LISD as an educator, she received her yoga instructor training and has been teaching yoga at her private studio in Lufkin for four years. She enjoys seeing the benefits yoga has to offer her students. Her goal is to calm the mind, bring awareness to the present moment and learn through an attitude of self-discovery, challenge and fun in each class. Along with yoga, Terri enjoys reading and studying about Ayurveda and nutrition as she is also an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. She feels that the two go hand in hand. She is excited to bring this chapter of her yoga teaching career to Shepherd Street Yoga and watch Lufkin grow as a yoga community.
